Manulife Investment Management has appointed Calvin Lim as its alternatives investment specialist, based in Singapore, with responsibility for supporting the company’s efforts in bringing its range of private market capabilities, including private equity and credit, and real assets, to Asia.
Lim will also work alongside distribution teams in the region to deliver the firm’s suite of private market investment solutions to clients.
Prior to joining the company, Lim was a product specialist in the private markets and alternatives team at Bank of Singapore, where he was responsible for the origination, due diligence and advisory of private market funds and direct investments, and hedge fund solutions for the global private wealth clients. He started his career in private wealth management with Goldman Sachs in Singapore.
“The appointment of Lim,” says Hui-Jian Koh, Manulife IM’s CEO, “highlights our emphasis on providing alternative investment solutions to investors in Singapore and across Asia as they continue to search for diversified sources of income.”
Alex Catterick, the company’s global head of alternative investment, adds: “Lim’s experience in private markets and alternatives, along with his background in wealth management, adds to the value we provide to clients. His understanding of local market dynamics and nuances supports the global team in devising and bringing the most appropriate private market investment solutions to investors in the region.”
