Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation ( SMBC ) has appointed Sridhar Srinivasan as the bank’s newly established transaction banking chief operating officer ( COO ) for Asia-Pacific.
Based in Singapore, Srinivasan will oversee and strengthen end-to-end transaction banking capabilities. He will be responsible for driving initiatives focused on client experience and operational excellence. In his role, he will work closely with Shinichiro Yamazaki, head of global transaction banking department in Asia-Pacific, and partner IT and operations.
Srinivasan brings more than two decades of financial services experience for various institutions – including Citigroup, Standard Chartered and Accenture – leading large-scale digital and data-driven transformations across global markets. He is recognized for designing and delivering comprehensive transaction banking solutions, business architecture and agile transformation, which are key pillars of SMBC’s next-generation banking platform.
