French lender Société Générale has appointed Ken Tung as its head of financial sponsors coverage for Asia-Pacific, succeeding Laurent Cassin, who will be taking on a new position within the bank.
Tung, based in Hong Kong, reports regionally to Stephanie Clement de Givry, head of global banking and advisory for Asia-Pacific, and globally to Laurent Morel, global head of financial sponsors coverage.
Tung brings 30 years of investment banking experience across the Asia-Pacific region. His deep investment banking expertise and strong relationships with financial sponsors will strengthen the bank’s ability to originate high-value transactions and capture strategic opportunities that drive growth and impact.
The bank has built a strong global franchise across key business lines, consistently supporting financial sponsors in the core verticals of private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate. Since the launch of its financial sponsors coverage platform in Asia-Pacific in 2022, the bank has significantly scaled up its support for global sponsor clients expanding into the region, as well as Asian financial sponsors pursuing growth and development plans.
Prior to joining the bank, Tung served as head of financial sponsors group, Asia-Pacific, investment banking, at HSBC since 2018. Before that, he held several senior strategic positions in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, Citigroup and other global financial institutions. Throughout his career, Tung has maintained a strong focus on global and regional financial sponsors across Asia-Pacific, while he also spent significant time covering sectors like financial services and healthcare.
