The Asset   8 Dec 2025

US-based Citi has appointed Soonwook Kwon as its head of markets sales for Korea, reporting to Cecile Gambardella, head of markets sales for Japan, Asia North and Soutth and Australia, and David Um, head of markets for Korea.

Kwon, who will be based in Seoul, will lead the integration and execution of the bank’s sales strategy across financial institutions and corporate clients in Korea, coordinating closely with markets product teams and partners across services, banking and international.

He brings over two decades of experience in financial markets, most recently as managing director and branch manager at UBS and Credit Suisse in Seoul. He has a proven track record across structured products, interest rate derivatives, foreign exchange and balance sheet optimization solutions. His leadership, the bank notes, has been instrumental in executing complex transactions and de-risking portfolios.
